Description:
The Rinky-Dink is a clever and versatile 7-foot wooden dinghy designed by Mr. Atkin to meet the needs of small cruising boats requiring a tender that’s lightweight, compact, and easy to handle—yet as practical and stable as a much larger craft. His thoughtful design achieved that perfect balance, resulting in one of the most charming and efficient small boats ever created.
This 30-inch custom-made scale model is handcrafted to order, faithfully capturing every detail of the original Rinky-Dink. Built entirely by hand using the traditional plank-on-frame method, each model is constructed from select Western Red Cedar, Teak, Mahogany, and other fine exotic woods. Every piece requires approximately 4–5 months of meticulous craftsmanship, ensuring precise proportions, smooth lines, and a flawless finish.
During production, clients receive photo updates at key stages for review and approval:
- Hull shaping and planking
- Seating and interior detailing
- Final varnishing, painting, and finishing touches
Once completed, the model is carefully packed in a reinforced wooden crate for secure international delivery.
Available exclusively as a custom-made project, the Rinky-Dink boat model reflects the perfect harmony of function and form—celebrating timeless craftsmanship, balance, and beauty in classic small-boat design. To begin your build or request custom specifications, please visit
